Simple set of programs to monitor a com port running os/2 tcp/ip and
slip. If carrier is lost, the programs will kill slip.exe if running,
and restart slip.exe. The program assumes running slip.exe will
re-start your slip connection, i.e slip.cfg is setup o.k.

Use chk_loop.cmd if you dont use cron on your system ; edit the
command file and configure the com port and delay as required.

Use chk_once.cmd in conjunction with cron ; edit it and configure
the com port as required.

I'm told this procedure doesn't work well with sio ( com.sys replacement),
since sio doesnt release the port on hangup.

Two parts of other programs are included here ( go.doc and go.exe
by Carsten Wimmer, and rxasync by Ian Timms). Their programs did most
of the work.

Contact info for them : cawim@pool.informatik.rwth-aachen.de and

Feel free to modify the command files, while respecting any distribution
constraints the other authors have placed on their work.
