                        4HEXEN.TXT [This file]

This ZIP was made as a patch file for H969.ZIP [H#969.WAD]. The patch
replaces the sprites [specifically replaces the Afrits (Fire Gargolyes), Dark
Bishops, and Chaos Serpents (Green & Brown Demons)] into new characters.

The flying red head with the crazy hat (known as "Jerry") is unfortunately
back from the dead. The Cat is back and he's even dirtier than ever... And
of course, who could forget the Cigarette Man, MARK the Slick?
I know.. I know... Some of you (who are reading this) are not familiar
with this "oddity." Perhaps, you should check out the original JERRY.ZIP
under DOOM for further "story." Or perhaps, you should just "have fun with
it" and play it... Although, this IS a joke.....

Instructions: Make sure all files are under the directory where HEXEN is
which includes the main HEXEN.WAD. Type 4HEXEN. This would modify the
4HEXENSP.WAD for permissible sprites (would NOT affect the main HEXEN.WAD).
Type JERRY to play. To restore the original 4HEXENSP.WAD, type RESTORE
(only if you want to save it on a disk---You should!!)

Note: You can still play by typing JERRY even if you don't have the
H#969.WAD (HEXEN would ignore this command if you don't have this.
Although, you should download it if you want more weapons,etc.---hint!..
   hint!)

Additonal credits go to RAVEN, of course, for making HEXEN and SAM Publishing
for making a neat book called "3D Game Alchemy for DOOM, DOOM II, HERETIC,
and HEXEN" which consists utilities like WINTEX 4.1 by Olivier Montanuy for
   making this possible.

Known Bugs (unfortunately): When playing, you would notice that the "info"
function that gives you help commands would NOT appear correctly due to the
fact that the new replaced "title" has interfered this. This problem for
some reason cannot be resolved. The "credit" is also replaced but can only
be viewed after the demo(s) has been played.

                                  --end--
